We are all survivors of our path in life.  We climb our mountains or fall down the side searching for our authentic self.  We all need healing.  In 1996 I began to travel the path of healing by creating multi media art installations on social issues, ie; sexual abuse, domestic violence, drug/alcohol addictions. Each series would take 6-8 months from conception to completion. I used painting, photography, soft sculpture, hand made books, where ever the creator lead. Then non profit organizations were contacted to display the art and I presented a program sharing our family story. I worked in this area for five years and did a number of installations.

“The Web With Many Weavers” is a series of artwork that is a personal reflection of my daughter’s tragedy of abuse and our family moving through the extensive and ongoing process of healing.

The work of building a life is done every day, day after day.  I wanted to celebrate the survivors who were reclaiming their lives and families.  This lead to the creation of “Gallery of Survivors”.

Through my contacts with non-profits I found Cenikor, a residential program for drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and began working with the women using my art as a vehicle for communication. A few years later I began doing a similar program with The Haven a rehabilitation program run by the State of Colorado.

In the last 2 years another service project that has claimed my focus…HEART (Health Education Africa Resource Team).
